Hormones

  1. Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH): This hormone is produced by ovarian follicles and is a marker of ovarian reserve, which indicates the number of eggs a woman has. Higher levels suggest a greater number of remaining eggs, while lower levels can indicate a diminished ovarian reserve.
  2. Estradiol:This is the primary form of estrogen in women and is crucial for reproductive and sexual function. Measuring estradiol levels helps assess ovarian function, monitor fertility treatments, and diagnose menstrual irregularities and menopausal status.
  3. LH (Luteinizing Hormone): LH is involved in regulating the menstrual cycle and ovulation. Elevated LH levels, especially in conjunction with elevated AMH, can indicate PCOS. It is also used to evaluate pituitary function and diagnose disorders of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis.
  4. FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone): FSH is essential for ovarian follicle development. Measuring FSH levels helps assess ovarian reserve and diagnose conditions like primary ovarian insufficiency and menopause. It is also used in conjunction with LH to evaluate reproductive health.
